• Who can use the facility?
    • We provide service both for the industry as well as for academic users.
  • Where is the RH Microarray Center located?
    • We are located at the Department of Biochemistry, KB4111,  Rigshospitalet, 9, Blegdamsvej, DK-2100 Copenhagen, Denmark.
  • What are the prices?
    • The prices are non-profit and according to prices from Affymetrix, see Prices.
  • What kind of QC (quality control) do you use?
    • For RNA: clearly visible 18S and 28S bands, and an A260/280 ratio > 1.8.
    • For DNA:
  • What happens to leftover material?
    • You are supposed to collect your labeled material after successful analysis.
  • When can I expect my results?
    • For raw data, about a month.
  • Can chips be reused?
    • No chips can not be reused, but labeled material can.
  • Can labeled RNA/DNA be reused?
    • Yes.
  • What should I do if I want to use the RH Microarray Center for my experiments?
    • You should contact Rehannah Borup for further arrangements or fill in the Sample Submission formular.
  • What if a used chip turns out to be defective? Who is paying for that?
    • If a chip turns out to be defective, Affymetrix provides a replacement.
  • What kind of results do I get back?
    • Depends upon degree of collaboration.
  • Why do you recommend that I make my CEL files publicly available at time of publication?
    • If everybody makes their CEL files publicly available, it will allow you and others to make large meta-studies. This way you would benefit from the access to data which could add more conditions/treatments/tissue types etc. to your study.

  • How much RNA/DNA is required for GeneChip® analyses?
    • 10 µg RNA is needed for the old standard labeling protocol.
    • 1 µg RNA is needed for the new standard labeling protocol.
    • 100 - 200 ng RNA is needed for the small sample labeling protocol.
  • What if your QC reveals that my material is too poor or too little?
    • You will be contacted for further arrangements.
  • Do you offer training seminars in data analysis?
    • No
